An auto parts dealer in the Owode Onirin area of Lagos State, Lukman Ogundele, has died in the custody of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos State Police Command. Although the police formation had been reportedly evasive on the whereabouts of the father of two children, a police charge sheet sighted by PUNCH marked his name ‘late’. It was learnt that Lukman and his friend, Saheed Abayomi, had been arrested by SARS operatives for facilitating the sale of a stolen Toyota Camry. It was gathered that the police apprehended Lukman in the midnight of December 29, 2017 and took him into custody in Ikeja, where he was detained alongside Abayomi and two others. Abayomi and Lukman’s families reportedly searched for them at police stations across the state, until on December 31 when Abayomi’s mother traced him to the SARS office. It was gathered that Lukman’s wife, Wunmi Ogundele, and relatives consequently visited SARS office on several occasions, but were not allowed to see him....

Herdsmen killings: Senator Shehu Sani blasts Benue elders for visiting Buhari

Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district, Shehu Sani has lampooned Benue elders for visiting President Muhammadu Buhari at Aso Villa over herdsmen killings in Benue. In his contribution at the plenary on Tuesday, he blamed the elders saying, President Buhari ought to have visited Benue State over the incident during which the State lost over 73 indegenes and not otherwise. “As regards to the crisis where over 73 lives were lost in Benue, it is enough for Aso Rock to travel to the scene of the crisis, not Benue elders coming to Aso Rock. Border police on discovered four African migrants hidden within one car after it sped through the border crossing into Spain from Morocco. The driver and a passenger drove at speed past police officers at the Beni-Enzar checkpoint before abandoning the car at a petrol station and running off. Upon searching the car, officers found two men cramped inside the car boot, while another was curled up inside the bonnet. A woman was then found squeezed inside the car dashboard. The driver and passengers were detained after a struggle with police during which two officers were hurt. The pair now face people trafficking charges. 17 year old girl drugged, raped and impregnated by her sister's boyfriend in Lagos, lost her twin babies

This is so sad! 17-year-old Ogechukwu, pictured right, who was drugged and raped by her sister's boyfriend, in connivance with her sister, has lost her set of twin babies. Unbelievable Man walks into a TV news station and confessed to his involvement in the murder of a 19-year-old man nearly 25 years ago

According to Reeding Police, 44-year old Brian Hawkins and two other people were arrested this week in connection with Frank McAlister’s 1993 death. Hawkins walked into the headquarters of KRCR TV station to confess and said that he was involved in the murder. “I’m going to turn myself in next door at the sheriff’s department for a crime I was involved in years ago. … It was murder,” Hawkins told KRCR reporter Courtney Kreider. Hawkins told KRCR he and the others robbed McAlister, who was stabbed to death. The station did not air his on-camera interview until he surrendered to police. The station said it called authorities to let them know what was happening, and called after the interview to say he was on his way to turn himself in. Hawkins made the same confession to police that afternoon, the Redding Police Department said. 1 killed as Fulani, Hausa communities clash in Sokoto community

An elderly man was on Friday killed following a clash between Fulanis and Hausa people at Kasuwan Wawuri in Tangaza Local Government of Sokoto State. It was gathered that the fight started around 1:30pm in the afternoon when a Fulani man allegedly stabbed a sugarcane seller over a minor misunderstanding. Sokoto State police spokesman, ASP Ibrahim Abarass confirmed the incident to newsmen in the state. Abarass said, “the crisis started when the sugarcane seller asked the Fulani man for his money after he had taken his sugarcane. “The Fulani man was later arrested and detained by the police before he was forcefully seized by the relatives of the victims who unleashed terror on him.” The spokesman, however, refuted the rumour making the rounds that both the suspect and the victim have died, saying they were all responding to treatment at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto.

BREAKING: Tanker fire spreads agony in Festac,Lagos

There is agony right now spreading uncontrollably as fire razes dozens of cars on the Festac Link Road, Lagos. The tanker laden with petroleum product lost control on the link bridge and fell, spilling the content and an attendant inferno. An eyewitness called to inform us that whereas occupants in nearby vehicles managed to escape, a lot of vehicles in the traffic and those parked nearby have been burnt to husks, and the fire still spreading. A yet-to-be identified man was electrocuted while he was picking up items that are of value to him at the demolished Pen cinema in Agege, Lagos  state today, December 12th. The state government was carrying out the demolition of the cinema to pave way for a flyover bridge to be built in the area, when the man walked around to pick up some useful things from the debris Unfortunaley, he touched a metal that still had electricity in it and he was electrocuted. A producer/reporter with Daar Communications in Bayelsa, Patience Owe is in critical condition after being attacked by suspected armed robber. According to Julius Bokoru, editor-in-chief at Izom Writers Review, he was called to the scene of the violent robbery by one James Baridi around 10 pm on Saturday night,  where they found the victim llying in pool of her blood. It was learnt that the lone gunman trailed her from a Winners church where she had gone to watch the livestream of Shiloh 2017. He showed the gun, took her phone, jewelry and cash and then shot her at close range. They rushed her to Tobis Hospital but doctors demanded for police report and large sum of money. 2 Lord’s Chosen pastors, others arrested for ritual killings in Imo State

A gang of ritual killers were reportedly nabbed by vigilantes in Nkwerre, Imo state on Thursday. The gang is made up of six men, two of whom are pastors of the Lord’s Chosen Catholic Charismatics Church. According to Marcel Ezenwa who shared the story on Facebook, one of the pastors was arrested by Imo State Rapid Response Squad Command while he was in church ministering to children. The gang were first busted by the vigilantee in Nkwerre through the assistance of some youth leaders before the police were invited to the crime scene in Umugara village Nkwerre to take over the case. Three of the men have been arrested while three are still at large. The ones arrested confessed to being the mastermind behind the kidnap of a 12-year-old girl from Umugara village for ritual purposes for a token of N500,000 and another N500,000 after delivery of human parts or victim. Police kills undergraduate over N200 bribe

A student of Delta State Polytechnic, Sofia Oghogho, has been allegedly shot dead by a policeman identified as Sergeant Abua, who is attached to the Igbuzo Police Division, in Delta State. Also shot by Abua, at a checkpoint in the community, was a civil servant, Victor Emeagwai. The victims were in a Toyota Corolla, driven by an estate agent, Jerry Akinlabi, when the incident happened. Oghogho and Emeagwai were Akinlabi’s girlfriend and friend, respectively. Punch newspaper reports that a team of five policemen, including Abua, had flagged down Ogogo at a checkpoint along Igbuzo Market. One of the policemen, identified as Nwokolo, was said to have demanded money from Akinlabi and the driver told him that he did not have N200 to give him. Nwokolo reportedly said he would take one of the N1,000 notes Jerry had on him. A popular radio On-Air-Personality (OAP) identified as Cleo Tao has died in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital. She died on Friday at the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, UUTH, Uyo. The sad news was confirmed by the CEO of Planet FM, Tony Afia on Friday evening on-air: “Cleo Tao just got sick last week and was taken to the emergency intensive care unit at the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital. She died today,” he said. It is suspected that Ms. Tao may have died of a respiratory ailment, owing to her Facebook post two days earlier. “Sorry guys, I had a respiratory challenge, I’m responding to treatment. I’ll be out soon. Thanks for your kind prayers,” she wrote on her Facebook page. People who were close to Ms. Tao said she was energetic, lively and very passionate about her job. The deceased was the Head of Programmes at a private radio station, Planet 101.1FM.

Woman who stabbed her husband continuously to death in Ibadan has been sentenced to 7 years imprisonment

A court in Oyo state has sentenced Yewande Oyediran to seven years imprisonment for stabbing her husband, Lowo Adelowo continuously to death in February 2016. Yewande who is a lawyer and a Staff of Directorate of public prosecution at the Ministry of Justice, Ibadan, Oyo state, stabbed her 38 year old husband to death after a domestic dispute at their Akobo estate home in Ibadan on February 2nd 2016. After several months of trial, Yewande was this morning found guilty and sentenced to 7-years imprisonment for manslaughter. The term is to run from the day of her arrest.

Lady Disgraced In Public after She Was Caught Stealing About 30 Phones – Video

A middle aged woman has been disgraced after she was caught stealing phones. The unidentified woman is alleged to have stolen more than 30 mobile phones and hid them in her her dress. Evil Husband Who Used Axe to Cut His Wife 40 times Before Throwing Her Body Away Sentenced to Life in Prison

Norbert Chikerema has been sentenced to life in prison after he was found guilty of murdering his wife Norbert Chikerema has been jailed for life after he was found guilty of murdering his wife and dumping her body in a supermarket car park, according to the  Birmingham Mail. Chikerema, 42 was told by the Birmingham Crown Court he would serve a minimum of 22 years after he struck Nyasha Kahari, a mother of four, at least 40 times with numerous weapons, including an axe, before driving her body to Lidl in Tile Cross. The court heard previously that Chikerema and his wife, also known as Gillian, ran a nursing home business and that he believed she was seeing another man. On January 29 this year they visited a number of addresses, leaving the last one at 11pm and shortly afterwards the defendant attacked his wife. The principal medical officer, Mubi General Hospital, Dr. Era Mikailu, told journalists yesterday that 48 people were brought to the hospital the day of the attack. Aid group to spend N400m for reconstruction in Adamawa The death toll from Tuesday’s suicide bombing of a mosque in Mubi, Adamawa State, has risen to 58. Initial reports had stated that about 50 persons lost their lives after a youth blew himself up as worshippers observed early morning prayer.
