Marcus Rashford   provided an injury boost yesterday when he uploaded a picture to social media of him stretching after missing the Premier League defeat to Newcastle at the weekend. January signing   Alexis Sanchez   will also be looking to continue his joyous run in the   FA Cup.   The Chilean has been directly involved in 15 goals in 15 appearances and will be looking to add to his tally on Saturday. Mourinho may have to travel to Huddersfield without Eric Bailly, Daley Blind, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marouane Fellaini but there is a clamour among supporters for academy talents Angel Gomes and Tahith Chong to be promoted to the matchday cup squad.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says his side still have “really hard work” in front of them despite continuing their phenomenal goalscoring away from home by hitting five at Brighton. The Nigeria Women’s Bobsled team qualified for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games which will take place at PyeongChang. Seun Adigun, Ngozi Onwumere, and Akuoma Omeoga, who make up the team wrote their names in the sands of time by becoming the first African team to qualify for the bobsled category, after completing the required five races. Their first qualifying race was in the North America Cup in Park City, Utah where Seun and her brakeman Akuoma completed two races in January. They went on to Whistler, Canada for their second track where Adigun and brakeman, Onwumere were the only team to complete the first race. It is gathered that Venus who is Serena Williams’s sister was robbed while she was playing at the third US open. Her Florida mansion in the posh Palm Beach Gardens area was burgled and the robbers made away with several valuable properties. The city’s police department has confirmed an investigation is ongoing into the burglary, which occurred at an exclusive gated community between September 1 and 5. This is just two days later on September 7 the 37-year-old tennis legend suffered heartbreak when she lost in three sets to eventual champion Sloane Stevens in the semi-finals. On the positive side she raked a substantial $920,000 in prize money, more than double what she lost in the burglary.

Patrice Evra faces his disciplinary destiny on Friday when he could be sacked by Marseille and heavily sanctioned by UEFA for aiming a karate kick at one of his own supporters. The fiery 36-year-old former Manchester United and Juventus defender was red-carded for his violent reaction to being taunted by Marseille fans during the pre-match warm-up at last week’s Europa League game against Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal. Marseille and UEFA have both scheduled decisions for Friday with many observers believing that Evra will at least suffer the same punishment handed out to French compatriot Eric Cantona for his flying kick in 1995.
