According to King’s former teammate, Taju Disu, the former Abiola Babes keeper died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, after he was transferred from the Ikorodu General Hospital. King was last week reported to be down with partial stroke and memory loss, and was initially admitted at the State Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta, Ogun State. Disu said King was taken to the Ikorodu General Hospital after his health was not improving. West Africa’s biggest solar power plant came online on Wednesday (29 November) as Burkina Faso, one of the world’s poorest countries, inaugurates a novel scheme to boost renewables and cut energy dependence on its neighbours. The 55-hectare plant at Zagtouli on the outskirts of the capital Ouagadougou will be able to churn out 33 megawatts – enough to power tens of thousands of homes. Presiding over the opening ceremony will be Burkinabe President Roch Marc Christian Kabore and his visiting French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, whose country partially funded construction of the facility. “For the past six weeks the plant has been in a test phase with production of 14 MW, and will reach a peak of 33 MW during December, sufficient sunshine permitting,” said the site’s construction manager, Stephane Nosserau. “This is West Africa’s largest plant in terms of installed capacity,” added construction overseer Saidou Nana. A thief was nabbed in Masindi town Uganda after a witch doctor sent bees to smoke him out. The unidentified man was stung by the insects which perched on is head and chest and forced him to confess. He marched on the streets in pain as he returned the stolen items to its owner. The proverbial 40 days of thief became reality to a man who stole music systems in the town of Masindi when a swarm of bees attacked him at his hideout. The unidentified man was forced to return the stolen woofer after the bees attacked him with stings and making a home on his head, neck and almost half of his body. Carrying the woofer in one hand and trying in vain with the other to chase the insects, the man marched in the streets without a shirt as he returned the stolen items to the owner in the little Ugandan town. “A guy stole woofers in Masindi town and these bees were sent to arrest him. According to multiple online reports, the Zimbabwean Minister of Finance, Ignatius Chombo, has been arrested by the country's army who recovered a whopping $10 million from him. Chombo is reported to have been arrested after gunfire was exchanged between his security and members of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) last night. A Facebook user shared photos of the man explaining to his admirers the functions of the specially made vehicle as it attracted attention in the area Ephraim was trained abroad and returned home to use his talents to impact the society positively. Former vice president of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, is expected to be sworn in as president following the resignation of Robert Mugabe. He will return to the country on Wednesday. The former minister had fled from Zimbabwe in fear of his safety after his removal. Mnangagwa could be installed as president later on Wednesday or on Thursday and is likely to lead ZANU-PF into elections in 2018. Mnangagwa, whose sacking this month prompted the military takeover that forced Mugabe out, was expected to land in Zimbabwe at 1130 GMT, Larry Mavhima, his ally told Reuters. Mugabe resigned as Zimbabwe’s president on Tuesday. “I Robert Gabriel Mugabe in terms of section 96 of the constitution of Zimbabwe hereby formally tender my resignation with immediate effect,” Speaker Mudenda quoted him as he read the resignation letter to parliament. His exit ends a 37-year rule defined by brutality and economic collapse.

Sources say only five Zimbabwe cabinet ministers and the attorney-general turned up for a meeting called by President Robert Mugabe as 17 others opted to attend a meeting to plan the 93-year-old leader’s impeachment.
