Cristiano Ronaldo has advised the leadership of the Spanish football club, Real Madrid to strengthen the squad to boost its chances of success. Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has reportedly given the club a shortlist of three players they must bring in next year. Madrid are eight points off Barcelona, who currently occupy top spot in La Liga. Ronaldo has eight goals in five games in Europe, but has managed to net only twice in nine league matches, as the champions struggle to impress on the domestic front. The Portugal captain has also been outspoken on the club’s decision to allow experienced backup players like Pepe, Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez to depart in the summer. Diario Gol reports that Ronaldo has appealed to president Florentino Perez to strengthen the squad. Nigeria Not Scared Of Big Team

Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr says he is calm ahead of Friday’s Final Draw for the 21st FIFA World Cup finals as his team has no fear of any team. According to a statement by the Communications Department of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Thursday, Mr. Rohr spoke from the Crowne Plaza World Trade Centre in Moscow. It quoted him as speaking in the morning after he landed in the Russian capital for the showpiece event. “There is no weak squad in the 32-team field, and anyone hoping to play so-called `average teams’ in the group phase is only guilty of wishful thinking. “All the teams that are in the Final Draw, except host nation Russia, played qualifying matches. They all emerged from tough encounters and, therefore, none can be tagged `weak’. “In the next 24 hours, we will enter the State Kremlin Palace for the Final Draw and a couple of hours later, everyone will know their opponents. “There is no apprehension. If you have to be listed among the

World Cup Draw Won’t Be Rigged – FIFA

FIFA has moved to reassure football fans it will not manipulate the World Cup draw on Friday to favour certain teams. Former FIFA president Sepp Blatter claimed last year that some European football draws have been fixed in the past with the use of hot and cold balls. Russia was drawn against Peru in the only rehearsal filmed before the media on Wednesday. “There’s no truth to that,” said Chris Unger, FIFA director of competitions, in response to a question about heated balls. “They’re all the same; they don’t feel any different, they don’t look any different with the exception of the red balls, which are there for a purpose. It’s entirely random and by chance how the groups get formed at the end.” Former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan, who will help draw the groups, also attended a rehearsal. “South American teams are very strong,” said Forlan, who was
