BREAKING: Tanker fire spreads agony in Festac,Lagos

There is agony right now spreading uncontrollably as fire razes dozens of cars on the Festac Link Road, Lagos. The tanker laden with petroleum product lost control on the link bridge and fell, spilling the content and an attendant inferno. An eyewitness called to inform us that whereas occupants in nearby vehicles managed to escape, a lot of vehicles in the traffic and those parked nearby have been burnt to husks, and the fire still spreading. Operatives of Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command‏ have arrested a 27 year old Road Union member who had '134 raps of Indian Hemp' packaged in drug sachets with him in Oshodi. According to the suspect, Tayo Ayoade, even men dressed up in suits and ties patronize him. More photos below.

Ambode presents N1.046 trillion budget, targets N60b monthly IGR

Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode presenting the 2018 budget to the state House of Assembly at Alausa, Ikeja… yesterday Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode yesterday presented N1.046 trillion 2018 budget estimates to the House of Assembly, saying the state hopes to generate on the average N60 billion monthly to finance it. The proposed budget, the governor said, represents an increase of 28.67 per cent over 2017 budget with recurrent expenditure of N347.039 billion and capital expenditure of N699 billion. Ambode, who stated that the estimate of total revenue for year 2018 is N897.423 billion of which N720.123 billion will be generated internally, said the state intends to improve on its Internally-Generated Revenue (IGR) in the face of the dwindling accruable revenue allocation from the Federal Government, as well as sustain its vision on wealth creation and poverty alleviation. Alleged Lagos lagoon’s seller accuses police of complicity

Friends and family members of detained businessman, Emeka Okoronkwo are appealing to the Inspector General Of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris to call his men to order over their interferences in a civil case between their brother and one Kennedy Nwabuoku. According to them, the police officers from IGP Monitoring Team have shown glaring bias in the case by taking side against their brother, who is now lying ill at the hospital as a result of torture from investigating police officers. According to the statement, the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, IGP and Mr. Femi Falana, (SAN) have been mentioned as people interested in the case, while the said buyer of the land, Kennedy Nwabuoku has been accused of threatening to deal with the Okoronkwo.
