Operatives of Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command‏ have arrested a 27 year old Road Union member who had '134 raps of Indian Hemp' packaged in drug sachets with him in Oshodi. According to the suspect, Tayo Ayoade, even men dressed up in suits and ties patronize him. More photos below.

20 Year old Man remanded in prison for attempted rape

A 20-year-old man, identified as Kabir Labaran, has been remanded in prison by a Katsina a State Senior Magistrates’ Court in the prison custody for allegedly attempting to r*pe a five-year-old girl. The prosecution told the presiding magistrate, Hajiya Fadila Dikko, that it was only providence that saved the minor from being violated by Labaran. The police told the court that Labaran had already forcefully removed the girl’s underwear and was attempting to r*pe her when the minor’s uncle stepped into the room. The incident was said to have happened at Tsagero Village in the Rimi Local Government Area of Katsina State on November 24, 2017. The uncle, whose name was not given, reportedly rescued the girl while the incident was reported at the Rimi Divisional Police Headquarters by the girl’s father, Ali Ibrahim, leading to Labaran’s arrest and subsequent arraignment before the court. Court remands wife of slain, ex-PDP Chairman’s son in prison

MARYAM Sanda was yesterday arraigned by the Police before a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Jabi, Abuja on charges of culpable homicide for allegedly stabbing her husband, Bilyamin Bello, to death on November 19. Bilyamin Bello is the son of the former acting Chairman of PDP, an ex-minister of Defense, Haliru Bello. She was accused of culpable homicide punishable by death under section 221 of the Penal Code Law. Sanda was alleged to have stabbed the deceased in the chest with a broken bottle. She was also accused of causing Bello “grievous hurt ” by stabbing him on the neck, an act said to be contrary to section 240 (g) and punishable under section 247 of the Penal Code Law. The incident was said to have taken place at about 3.50am on November 19, 2017 at their residence at 4, Pakali Close, Wuse Zone II, Abuja. Canadian pleads guilty to helping Russian agents in massive breach of Yahoo accounts 2017/11/25 09:08:50ripplesnigeria.com Karim Baratov, the Canadian behind helping Russian intelligence agents break into email ID’s as part of a massive 2014 breach of Yahoo accounts will plead guilty in a US court. According to court records received by Reuters, Baratov, a 22-year-old Canadian citizen born in Kazakhstan is scheduled to appear in federal court in San Francisco on Tuesday for the plea hearing. Baratov who earlier this year waived his right to fight a U.S. request for his extradition from Canada was arrested in Canada in March at the request of U.S. prosecutors. The U.S. Justice Department announced charges in March against Baratov and three other men, including two officers in Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), for their roles in the 2014 theft of 500 million Yahoo accounts.

Norbert Chikerema has been sentenced to life in prison after he was found guilty of murdering his wife Norbert Chikerema has been jailed for life after he was found guilty of murdering his wife and dumping her body in a supermarket car park, according to the  Birmingham Mail. Chikerema, 42 was told by the Birmingham Crown Court he would serve a minimum of 22 years after he struck Nyasha Kahari, a mother of four, at least 40 times with numerous weapons, including an axe, before driving her body to Lidl in Tile Cross. The court heard previously that Chikerema and his wife, also known as Gillian, ran a nursing home business and that he believed she was seeing another man. On January 29 this year they visited a number of addresses, leaving the last one at 11pm and shortly afterwards the defendant attacked his wife. Internet bank fraudsters now in recession, says CBN

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has claimed success in checking Internet fraudsters in the banking sector through various measures to prevent hacking into customers’ accounts. The deputy governor of the apex bank in charge of operations, Mr. Bayo Adelabu, who spoke at the 2017 retreat of the Nigeria Electronic Fraud Forum (NeFF) held in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, said the bank would continue to sanitise the financial sector. The event was attended by top officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), U.S Consulate, Lagos, Consumers Protection Council (CPC) and some commercial banks. Efcc nabs Anyim Pius

THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has confirmed the arrest of Anyim Pius Anyim, a former secretary to the government of the Federation. Wilson Uwujaren, spokesman of the commission, said on Friday, November 17, that Anyim was being held over an “ongoing investigation.” The former Senate president was still at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja as at press time. Report said that Anyim was being questioned for his role in the alleged mismanagement of ecological fund while in office as SGF, among other matters, our source said. While serving as SGF in 2012, Anyim was linked to shortfalls of about N396 billion in the Ecological Funds deductions. Subsequently, he was invited by the Senate Committee on Special Duties and House Committee on Environment to provide details of how money for the Ecological Fund office was spent but he never showed up in any of the committees.

Belgian judge grants conditional release to sacked Catalonia leader, 4 ministers

Hours after leaving office, Catalan leader carles puigdemont and 4 affiliates turned themselves to police.A Belgian judge has granted them all conditional bail after Spain issued a European arrest warrant for rebellion and embezzlement of public funds. According to Belgian prosecutor,the group is scheduled to appear in court within 15days and they've all been sanctioned from leaving the country without the judge permission.“The next step in the proceedings is the appearance of the five defendants before the Chambre du Conseil within the next 15 days,” prosecutors said in a statement. A confessional statement tendered before an Ikeja High Court on Tuesday revealed how Pastor Nsikakabasi Akpan-Jacobs voluntarily confessed defrauding Mrs Titi Atiku, the wife of former Vice-President Abubakar Atiku of N918 million. Mr Dickson Graymond, a retired detective with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) insisted on the voluntariness of Akpan-Jacob’s alleged confessional statement while giving evidence during a trial. An Akwa-Ibom State Church Elder Has Been Arrested After Butchering His Wife In Front Of Their 3 Kids

The Akwa Ibom State Police command has arrested an elder at Light of the World Mission Church, in Uyo, named Sunday Uko for killing his wife. The Command said Uko allegedly killed his wife, Mrs. Martha Sunday Uko, 35, after a minor quarrel which resulted into a fight. According to a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, Bala Elkana, the suspect after killing his wife and mother of three children, chopped her remains into pieces before dumping them in a waste bin. The statement reads partly, “Later, the suspect at midnight cut her remains into pieces, packed them in two sacks, put them in a wheelbarrow and poured them into a waste bin near NDLEA’s office, off Nwaniba Road, Uyo. “The suspect killed his wife in the presence of their children, who thereafter reported to the police, for fear of being murdered by their father. “During interrogation, he confessed to the crime. “Investigation is on. The suspect will be arraigned for murder.”

Doctor arrested for detaining two minors over N400,000 medical bills

Report reaching us says the Warri Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force has arrested the Administrative Head of Royal Clinic, Dr. Walter and another person over the alleged seven months detention of two minors, Kareen Ehikioya and Great favour Ehikioya against their wish by the hospital over four hundred thousand naira unpaid medical bills. At the time of filing this report, the medical director and the other person were making formal statements before the police in Warri. The arrests of the suspects was based on a petition instituted by the Nigerian Child Welfare Fund led by Mr. Joshua Omorere. Mr Omorere who confirmed the arrest had asked the Police to “verify” if Dr. Walter is truly a medical doctor, stressing that his conduct was against the ethics of the medical profession.
