The Lagos State Government has begun moves to tackle high-profile tax defaulters in the state and ensure high level of compliance with its tax laws. As part of this initiative, the state government has moved against some celebrities in the state, who are alleged to be tax evaders despite their earnings from their business. A court paper, sighted by Sunday Punch on Saturday, indicated that the state government had dragged sensational singer, David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, before the court for alleged tax evasion. Also, a reliable source in government told Sunday Punch that the state had equally moved against popular comedian, Ayo Makun, better known as AY, for allegedly failing to pay tax. Reekado Banks had made a statement during his Thank You Concert in Ibadan in which he said that he was better than Lil Kesh and that there was no basis for comparison. The Lagos State Police Commissioner, Edgal Imohimi, has ordered the dismissal of the officer that attacked Tinsel actress April Jojo Muse, yesterday. Recall that earlier DAILY POST had published a video online showing a police officer attacking Ms. Muse, breaking her vehicles windscreen and using tear gas on her. The officer was subsequently arrested by the command for violation of human rights. In a new twist, the Lagos state police spokesperson, Sp. Chike Oti, told journalists that, “the state police commissioner, Edgal Imohimi, after seeing the disturbing video, ordered the arrest of the erring officer.” After investigation, the officer was found guilty and has been dismissed from the force. NIGERIAN Singer, and MTN Project Fame winner, Chidinma Ekile, AKA Ms Kedike, has revealed she was born blind. The star singer in an Interview with Guardian said according to her parents, she just could not see for some months. Chidinma said she would love to be seen more as someone who does a lot for visually-impaired kids and young people as she can relate with their situation. She said, “I was born blind. I just couldn’t see for some months. Since I sang about it, I felt the need to help kids that find themselves in such situations or even worse. So every time I travel to these places, I try to extend a hand of love to these children. “For some years now, I think like two years or thereabout. I’ve been using my foundation to do quite a lot of things. I’ve been able to take it to some places in Africa. The last time, I think I was in Togo and I was able to do a few things with the SOS village, I hope to do more of that.”

Wizkid in his post disclosed that when South African Airways (SAA) gave him back his luggage, he discovered that they were all empty.
