How Anthony Joshua Broke Lennox Lewis' Long-Standing Heavyweight Record...

Even though, British-Nigerian boxing champ, Anthony Joshua still has a way to go before he is mentioned in the same breath as Lennox Lewis – he showed that he is well on the way after breaking Lewis’ heavyweight record.

According to Daily Star UK, boxing writer Steve Bunce explained AJ’s remarkable achievement, which was largely lost amid the noise of his victory over Carlos Takam at the Principality Stadium last month.

“Anthony Joshua just set a record for a British heavyweight world champion,” Bunce explained.
“When he beat Carlos Takam, he became the first guy to make four defences of his world heavyweight title because Lennox Lewis lost in his fourth attempt.

“When Lennox Lewis first held the title, he lost in his fourth defence to Oliver McCall so Anthony Joshua holds the record.
“He’s an exceptional fighter.
“Anthony Joshua is unbelievable. 25 years ago, if you had told me, you’d have looked into a crystal ball and painted for me Anthony Joshua – not a chance.”

The 27-year-old now has his sights set on blockbuster unification showdowns against WBO champion Joseph Parker and WBC champ Deontay Wilder, making clear his ambitions to become the undisputed heavyweight king.

Negotiations with Team Parker over a spring shootout are thought to be advanced, with promoter Eddie Hearn claiming an agreement could well be in place within the next two weeks.

Guardiola vows to ”kill” Man City team if they fail to win EPL

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has vowed to kill his players if they fail to finish the English Premier League (EPL) season without the title. Guardiola said there was no chance of his team becoming complacent despite their superb form to the start of the season. Manchester City continued their EPL dominance with a 2-0 win at Leicester City on Saturday. City have made a flying start to the season, dropping just two points from the first 12 games and are 8-point lead at the top of the table, scoring 40 goals and conceding just seven. “That is not going to happen because I am their manager,” Guardiola said. “The team, that is not going to happen. I’ll kill them. Complacency doesn’t happen in my teams. “They can play bad, teams are going to beat us, that happens. “But if you see the team, they have the desire to have the ball and play. We are not a team that speculates about absolutely anything. That’s not going to happen.”

Whether you’re the best or the worst, not everyone will agree. Don’t start hatred neither should you fan the fire of hate. Someday, our bodies will end up six feet below. Just above it, our memories will live fading with time. Sheathe your swords and embrace PEACE. Build legacies and write your names as legends. Don’t die prematurely for people’s obsessions. Both of you are doing awesomely well, don’t stop. Bless You. SEYILAW.”
