There is widespread tension and apprehension in Taraba as a helicopter allegedly loaded with  a large cache of arms and ammunition  last night landed in Jibu village along river Benue in Ibi local government area of the state. Senior Special Assistant to Governor Darius Ishaku on Media and Publicity, Mr. Bala Dan-Abu told our correspondent that the arms and ammunition are allegedly meant for a militia group that may be planning attack on Taraba villages. “This system of arms delivery was used prior to the tragic attacks in Agatu communities in Benue State last year which led to the killings there. “When it was reported, nothing was done to trace and arrest the owners of the helicopter. The strategy worked for them in Agatu and they are using it again today. This may be another planned militia attacks on the people of Taraba in the offing,” he said. Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district, Shehu Sani has lampooned Benue elders for visiting President Muhammadu Buhari at Aso Villa over herdsmen killings in Benue. Border police on discovered four African migrants hidden within one car after it sped through the border crossing into Spain from Morocco. The driver and a passenger drove at speed past police officers at the Beni-Enzar checkpoint before abandoning the car at a petrol station and running off. Upon searching the car, officers found two men cramped inside the car boot, while another was curled up inside the bonnet. A woman was then found squeezed inside the car dashboard. The driver and passengers were detained after a struggle with police during which two officers were hurt. The pair now face people trafficking charges. The Nigerian Air Force on Sunday in Kaduna took delivery of five new Super Mushshak aircraft purchased by the Federal Government from Pakistan to fight the Boko Haram insurgency. With the new five aircraft, which were delivered to the NAF Base in Kaduna, 10 trainer aircraft have now been supplied by Pakistan to Nigeria to aid the counter-terrorism operations. Punch correspondent learnt that an Ilyushin 76 Strategic Airlifter brought the five aircraft while they were already being assembled by a team of Pakistani and Nigerian technicians for test flying and a formal induction. The air force had on July 14, 2017, taken delivery of the first batch of Super Mushshak Aircraft which were inducted and deployed for primary training of the war pilots. Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele has been ruled out for “three to four weeks” in a new blow for the French forward, his club announced on Monday. Dembele hurt himself after coming off the bench in the second half of Sunday’s 4-2 win away to Real Sociedad in La Liga.
