Paul pogba unlikely to return soon

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho said he has “no idea” when record signing Paul Pogba will be fit again after the French midfielder suffered a hamstring injury. The France player had sustained the injury in a UEFA Champions League tie against Basel early in September. The 24-year-old, who cost 89 million pounds last year —- a world record at the time —- played only a handful of games this season before being sidelined. “Paul is not here, I don’t know when he comes back, when he’s available, I’ve no idea,” Mourinho told a news conference ahead of his team’s Saturday’s visit to Huddersfield Town. He hopes Zlatan Ibrahimovic will return by the end of the year, however. The Portuguese also has better news of Marcus Rashford, who is fit in spite of coming off during the midweek Champions League win over Benfica with a knee injury. United will be looking to make history by keeping an eighth clean sheet in the opening nine league games of the season. No other team has a...

Recognition a Key Issue in Somaliland's Presidential Election

Somaliland's three presidential candidates have concluded their campaigns ahead of Monday's poll to elect the next leader of the breakaway region. Muse Bihi of the ruling Kulmiye party, Faisal Ali Waraabe of the For Justice and Development party (UCID) and Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi of the Wadani party held their final rallies this week in the capital, Hargeisa. A central issue, as always, is how to win international recognition for Somaliland. Somalia, which was once governed by Italy, wants Somaliland to be part of a single Somali state. But Somaliland, which used to be a British colony and broke away from the rest of Somalia in 1991, wants to be a separate country. All three candidates favor a fully independent Somaliland but have different visions of how to achieve it. "Previous talks were not fruitful and they were heading to the wrong direction," Bihi told VOA. He proposes bringing in "proper and genuine mediators" to replace officials fr...

Tinubu, Atiku have dumped ‘fatigued’ Buhari – Sule Lamido

Former Governor of Jigawa State and contender for the Peoples Democratic Party’s sole ticket for the 2019 Presidential election, Sule Lamido has declared that President Muhammadu Buhari has been dumped by ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Lagos State Governor, Ahmed Bola Tinubu. According to him, PDP was not afraid of Buhari, who is now left with his ‘tiny CPC members, having lost support of members of the other parties that merged to form APC in 2015. He noted that Buhari of today is no longer that of 2015 and can now be easily displaced from office. He told Sun, “That is my business if they endorse him or if he runs? Buhari came from a very small party called the CPC. Without the influence of the ACN and the governors who left the PDP, there was no way he would have won because he came from a very tiny party. If those who came together to make him what he is, are no longer in the party, then he has my sympathy for failing to understand this. Look here, Buhari is no ...
