Fani-Kayode reacts to Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital

Nigeria’s former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has hailed the decision of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Fani-Kayode, writing on his Twitter page, hailed it as a “great and courageous move” and claimed “millions of believers are overjoyed”.

He tweeted: “I commend @realDonaldTrump and the USA for RECOGNISING JERUSALEM (the City of David) as the CAPITAL of Israel.

“This is a great and courageous move! Millions of believers are overjoyed!

“Jerusalem has always been and will always be the UNDIVIDED and ETERNAL capital of Israel.”

Trump called for calm and tolerance after the decision.

“I have determined that it is time to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel,” Trump said from the White House.

“It’s the right thing to do.”
