Fayose Turns Fuel Attendant, Dispenses Fuel At N145/ Litre

 Controversial Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose on Christmas Day supervised the distribution of petrol at the government-determined price of N145 per litre in a filling station in the state. The governor reportedly engaged in sale of the property at Alade Filling Station along Iyin Road in the state capital. He said he took the decision to empathise with the people and ease their suffering in getting the product. Fayose disclosed that reports had reached him that the APC-led government was devising a means to increase the pump price of fuel to increase the suffering of the masses. He said, “This is the sacrifice we have to make as a responsible government to alleviate the suffering of the people, because this is a black Christmas. BREAKING: Tanker fire spreads agony in Festac,Lagos

There is agony right now spreading uncontrollably as fire razes dozens of cars on the Festac Link Road, Lagos. The tanker laden with petroleum product lost control on the link bridge and fell, spilling the content and an attendant inferno. SARS becoming a problem, even for police – Falana

Lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana, said operatives of the Special Anti- Robbery Squad, SARS, a police unit, are becoming a problem even for the Nigeria Police Force. Nigeria: Obasanjo Left U.S.$9 Billion in ECA Not U.S.$65 Billion, Group Counters Amaechi

The Niger Delta Roundtable group has strongly disagreed with the minister of Transport, Hon Rotimi Amaechi, on how much was left behind in the Excess Crude Account by the President Olusegun Obasanjo administration. Amaechi had at an engagement with journalists, yesterday, accused the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan of squandering the ECA savings. According to him, "When Obasanjo was leaving, he left about 65 billion dollars in the excess crude account, but this money was frittered away and we wonder where the money is." The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has stated that it might revisit the case files of 20 former state governors which it indicted for corruption in 2008. Acting Chairman of the commission, Abdullahi Bako, told journalists in Abuja on Tuesday that the cases were not pursued due to legal and financial constraints. “The cases came up when the governors were still in office, and the law provides for the setting up of an independent council to investigate them. “Unfortunately, at that time, the Office of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) which was to appoint the council had no money to pay for such gigantic operation or assignment “That was why nothing was done about it. The Lagos State Police Commissioner, Edgal Imohimi, has ordered the dismissal of the officer that attacked Tinsel actress April Jojo Muse, yesterday. Recall that earlier DAILY POST had published a video online showing a police officer attacking Ms. Muse, breaking her vehicles windscreen and using tear gas on her. The officer was subsequently arrested by the command for violation of human rights. In a new twist, the Lagos state police spokesperson, Sp. Immigration officials were left stunned after nabbing a 12-year-old boy found curled up inside the dashboard of a car in a suspected smuggling operation. The schoolboy, believed to be from Guinea in West Africa, was hiding in a foetal position in a pair of dirty shorts. The youngster was stuffed into the tiny space between the engine and the passenger of the BMW X5. Officers found him after detecting his heartbeat using a special machine. They then reached into the dashboard with their hands at a checkpoint on the border between Morocco and Spain’s north African enclave of Melilla. The car was ripped apart to retrieve the child. The child was said to have been disorientated and suffering breathing difficulties and numbness in his limbs because of the position he had been forced to adopt. CCT TRIAL: Saraki to take ‘appropriate action’ on Appeal Court ruling

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki has said that he would review the Appeal Court judgement concerning his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), and take “appropriate action”. The Appeal Court had on Tuesday ordered that Saraki return to face trial on three of the 18 count charges preferred against him at the CCT. In his reaction to the ruling, the Senate President said the “Appellate Court only gave a summary of its decision today promising to provide the parties with Certified True Copies of the Judgment soon. “As soon as it makes the details of the judgement available, our lawyers will review the grounds of the decision and take appropriate action”. Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose on Wednesday described President Muhammadu Buhari as ‘father of corruption’ over his refusal to petition Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Kayode Fayemi and other corrupt officials in his camp. The star singer in an Interview with Guardian said according to her parents, she just could not see for some months. Chidinma said she would love to be seen more as someone who does a lot for visually-impaired kids and young people as she can relate with their situation. She said, “I was born blind. I just couldn’t see for some months. Since I sang about it, I felt the need to help kids that find themselves in such situations or even worse. So every time I travel to these places, I try to extend a hand of love to these children. “For some years now, I think like two years or thereabout. I’ve been using my foundation to do quite a lot of things. I’ve been able to take it to some places in Africa. Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode presenting the 2018 budget to the state House of Assembly at Alausa, Ikeja… yesterday Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode yesterday presented N1.046 trillion 2018 budget estimates to the House of Assembly, saying the state hopes to generate on the average N60 billion monthly to finance it. The proposed budget, the governor said, represents an increase of 28.67 per cent over 2017 budget with recurrent expenditure of N347.039 billion and capital expenditure of N699 billion. Real Madrid have agreed a deal to sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain as soon as 2019. Neymar only left Barcelona for the Ligue 1 champions last summer, for a world-record fee of £200million. India outrage over brutal rape and murder of six-year-old

Police in India are questioning several people in connection with the brutal rape and murder of a six-year-old in the northern state of Haryana. Her body was found on Sunday close to her home from where she was allegedly abducted on the night of 8 December. The extent of the injuries to the child have horrified Indians, with many drawing parallels with the 2012 Delhi bus rape that caused massive outrage. The child's mother told BBC Hindi's Manoj Dhaka that they wanted justice. "It's been 24 hours and the police are yet to catch anyone," she said Police have detained three of her husband's relatives for questioning but no arrests have been made so far. However no details have been released. The government has formed a special investigative team as public pressure mounts on authorities to catch those responsible for the crime. According to Julius Bokoru, editor-in-chief at Izom Writers Review, he was called to the scene of the violent robbery by one James Baridi around 10 pm on Saturday night,  where they found the victim llying in pool of her blood. It was learnt that the lone gunman trailed her from a Winners church where she had gone to watch the livestream of Shiloh 2017.
